5 Doable Post Session Goals

At the end of the session with my career counseling clients, we collaboratively create five doable goals to accomplish within the next month. One of the first goals I usually challenge my clients to accomplish is to shadow someone who is in their desired career field. Another goal that is typically discussed pertains to researching online majors that came up in session but were not identified on their Strong Interest Inventory Report. A third goal refers to volunteering in a prospective career field. A possible fourth goal would be for my client to interview a friend or family member that is in a career area of interest. Lastly, clients are often encouraged to conduct research on creating their own business related to their career aspirations. All five of these goals assist my clients in furthering their career exploration process and can be easily accomplished within a month’s timeframe.
